The Byrna SD (Self Defense) is the successor of the Byrna HD. It has been re-engineered for optimal performance. Powered by compressed air (CO2), the Byrna SD shoots .68 caliber round kinetic and/or chemical irritant projectiles that can disable a threat from up to 20m away. It is an incredibly powerful and non-lethal self-defense weapon.
The Byrna SD is not classified as a firearm.
KEY FEATURE: The Co2 cylinder is housed unpierced internally underneath the barrel. On the first trigger pull in fire mode, the Co2 cylinder is pierced and simultaniously shoots the first projectile. This feature allows the Byrna SD always in a state of readiness to use with a full Co2 Cylinder.
The Byrna SD has the same similary as a semi-automatic pistol. The body is mold from a glass filled nylon polymer and the grip has a rubber over mold that gives better grip retention. Projectiles feeds into the Byrna SD by ulilzing interchangeable 5-round magazines.
The Launcher is powered by an 8-gram Co2 cylinder that propels projectiles at approximately 280fps and are accurate on distances up to 20meters.
EXTERNAL FEATURES:
The Byrna SD features a three-blade sight, an external ambidextrouis safety lever that can easily be switched between safe and fire mode, a breech indicator at the top, not only indicates that there is a projectile in the chamber but also when pressed down, ejects the projectile from the chamber through the magazine well, so you know the launcher in clear. The Byrna SD also come standard with a picatinny rail that allows the mounting of accessoiries.
Unfortunately, this item is not available for the Netherlands at this time.
