The Smith & Wesson Performance Center® M&P®9 M2.0 Metal Carry Comp® represents the most refined evolution of the M&P striker-fired platform to date. Developed for shooters who demand premium ergonomics, flatter recoil characteristics, and high-speed controllability, this full-size 9mm combines the proven reliability of the M&P series with the advanced tuning and craftsmanship of the Smith & Wesson Performance Center.

At the heart of the pistol is the Carry Comp® system featuring the integrated PowerPort™ barrel and slide design. Strategically engineered vent ports redirect escaping gases upward during firing, significantly reducing muzzle rise and felt recoil while helping the shooter maintain faster sight recovery between shots.

Unlike traditional threaded compensator setups, the integrated system maintains a sleek and duty-ready profile without adding unnecessary bulk or length. The pistol is built around a lightweight yet rigid aluminum frame that delivers a noticeably different shooting feel compared to polymer-framed pistols. The metal construction adds balance and stability while still keeping the unloaded weight at approximately 28 ounces, making the pistol suitable for both dynamic shooting and carry applications. Combined with the M&P’s signature 18-degree grip angle, the Metal Carry Comp offers exceptionally natural pointability and outstanding control under rapid fire.

As expected from a Performance Center model, the pistol receives a factory-tuned flat-face trigger designed for a cleaner break and more consistent reset. Aggressive slide serrations provide excellent manipulation under wet or gloved conditions, while the slide itself features extensive lightening cuts that reduce reciprocating mass and contribute to the pistol’s fast cycling characteristics.

The optics-ready slide allows direct mounting of popular red dot sights, making the pistol fully compatible with modern defensive and competition-oriented setups. Smith & Wesson’s ClearSight™ system further enhances usability by directing gases away from the optic window, helping maintain a clearer sight picture during rapid strings of fire. The pistol is equipped with high-visibility night sights and ships with interchangeable palmswell grip inserts to optimize ergonomics for different hand sizes.
